I painted this pheasant as a commission for my oldest client. My client is turning 104 years old tomorrow (as I type this in 2023). She commissioned this painting for her 75-year-old daughter as a retirement gift. Apparently, a beautiful, male ring-necked pheasant took a liking to her daughter and visited her at her home almost daily. They have become quite attached to each other.
